Hi, welcome to our Hand Painted Top Bar Bee
Hive page. We think our Hives are the best designed hives offered anywhere! This Bee Hive has the Cedar Pitched
Roof design to help shed water and along with the top vents creates a natural convection to release the huge moisture build
up in a hive created by the bees fanning the honey to dry it. This type roof eliminates the need for an unsightly cinder block
or weight on top. This Light Blue hive is hand painted with Ivy, bees, butterflies, hummingbirds
etc. No two of these will be exactlly a like. All hand painted hives come with the observation window and a
varroa screened bottomw/door. Let us know if you don't want either option when ordering
- This hive is approx. 48"
long and 34" high with the 2"x 4" legs. Bottom board is a full 7" wide inside. We've found
the wider bottoms on our hives allow the bees to build more natural comb with very few side attachments. The length
of this hive is also the perfect size for raising bees. The 36" hives with the 5-1/2 inch bottoms you see commonly
just don't work well.
- 30 pre-waxed/splined top bars and a follower board are included.
- The solid pine
observation door is easy on /off with one latch
- All our hives are made with sustainable and/or natural materials
whenever possible. Outside of bodies are primed and painted with High Quality Paint , Custom colors can be requested.
Insides are untreated natural solid pine.
- Bee Access holes are on the front right side or can be relocated to suit
your needs
- Fully Assembled except for the legs.
