Hi, welcome to our Top Bar Bee Hive page. I hand make all of these myself so you get the quality you deserve. We think our designs are the best offered anywhere!  This Bee Hive has a pitched Roof design to help shed water and along with the top vents creates a natural convection to release the huge moisture build up in a hive created by the bees fanning the honey to dry it. Lid is made with heavy plywood with a Cedar Shake Roof (The long lasting roof design helps keep the hive  temperature even and the best part is  the extra weight eliminates the need for an unsightly cinder block or rock on top. Body is painted Mallard green. We also have White, Light Blue, or plain if you wanted to paint it yourself. Just let us know what color you want when ordering. 

• This hive is approx. 48" long and 34" high.  Bottom board is a full 8" wide. We've found the wider bottoms on our hives allow the bees to build more natural comb.
• 33- 1-3/8" x 16-3/4" wide notched top bars and a follower board are included.
• The all important 2" brushed aluminum moisture release vents are on the top of the lid on each end. Don't buy hives without proper venting designs.
•  Outside of bodies are painted with 2 coats of Mallard green unless otherwise specified or requested. We can leave it raw wood if you would like to paint it yourself or paint it a different color. Insides are left  untreated natural solid pine.
• 5-Bee Access holes are on the front side or can be relocated to suit your needs. We will also throw in a couple of cork stoppers. 
• Fully assembled except you will have to install the legs with bolts provided
